Flower Accents

Step 1

Testing As Received

Our third party, accredited lab begins by testing each product and variant by placing it in a spectrophotometer. This device measures exactly how much UVA and UVB radiation passes through the material. We only move forward if the fabric blocks at least 98% of all rays in its initial state.

Step 2

The Life-Cycle Simulation

A swimsuit is only good if it still works in August. To simulate two years of seasonal use, our fabric is subjected to:

  • 40 Cycles of Home Laundering: Ensuring the weave doesn't loosen or lose its protective density.
  • 100 AATCC Fading Units: Exposure to high-intensity simulated sunlight to ensure UV rays don't degrade the protection.
  • Chlorinated Water Exposure: Specifically for our swimwear, we ensure that pool chemicals won't "thrive" through the fabric’s barrier.

Step 3

The Final Certification

Once the fabric has been torture-tested by the simulations above, it is re-tested for its final UPF rating. Our UPF 50+ Label is only applied if the fabric maintains its maximum protection levels after the two-year simulation. This is the gold standard of sun-safety labeling in the United States.

  • Flammability Testing

We ensure our fabrics meet 16 CFR 1610 standards, meaning they are not highly flammable and are safe for infant wear.

  • Lead Testing

We test the internal "core" of every material to ensure zero harmful lead levels are present. Then we verify that any dyes, prints, or snaps are 100% lead-free and non-toxic.

  • Small Parts Testing

Essential for ages 0-24M. We ensure that snaps, bows, or labels are securely attached and do not pose a choking hazard.

  • Tracking Labels

Every garment features a permanent tracking label, allowing us to trace the exact batch, date, and location of production for ultimate accountability.
